Arthur Rimbaud
Une saison en enfer.
Bruxelles, Alliance Typographique (M.-J. Poot et Compagnie), 1873. 18,2 x 12,5 cm, 53pp. + (1)pp., in original wrappers, cover - at the same time title-page - printed in black and red. Unwashed, unopened, uncut, near mint copy, usual minor foxing to the edges. Clamshell custom-made conservation box, title gilt on spine.

First edition. The author's first book, and the only book in whose publication he was involved during his lifetime, published by the author himself when he was nineteen. Why tell once again the story of the sharp Belgian bibliophile who discovered in 1901 in the printer's warehouse the near-entire edition, still unpaid for? Why add bookseller's praise to the thousands of pages written about the most famous "voyou" of 19th Century French literature? "J'ai horreur de tous les métiers."
