Jorn, Asger
Fin de Copenhague. Conseiller technique pour le détournement G.-E. Debord.
Copenhague, Bauhaus Imaginiste, May 1957. 25,5 x 17,5 cm, (36)pp., sewn in original cardboard wrappers, b/w ill. and text printed over coloured lithographs by Jorn. Fine copy.

First edition. One of 200 copies, numbered and signed by Jorn and Debord. Printed by Permild & Rosengreen in Copenhagen. Not only text and images are prefabricated, but the wrappers are made of cardboard mold used for casting newspaper printing plates, thus making every copy unique. Together with 'Mémoires', 'Fin de Copenhague' has been recognized by now as one of the truly revolutionary books of the 20th Century. They were not only proof of the friendship between the two most important founders of the Situationist International, but set the tone of future interventions of that ultra-radical group. During its short life, the S.I. handled with great and long-term efficiency the economy of means and forces - 'Fin de Copenhague' was made in 24 hours at the printer's studio - that characterize its beginnings.
