First edition. One of 400 numbered copies on vélin bouffant with four full-page engravings by Picasso. The colophon gives the technical details: "Les illustrations ont été gravées au burin par Pablo Picasso de manière à être imprimées dans le texte par les procédés typographiques courants." Goeppert/Cramer specify that the engravings are "zincographs reworked with engraving by the artist" The etchings refer to themes of Picasso's drawings and paintings of the late 1930s and early 1940s, the incisive presence of Dora Maar, full-face and seated in the chair, a woman walking towards the viewer, and a woman dancing. - Goeppert/Cramer 36.
