First edition. The only children's book produced by a member of the Belgian avant-garde, with rightly famous modernist illustrations. Here, 'children's joy' certainly becomes adult's pleasure, the enthusiasm of the avant-garde's first years coinciding with the colourful world as seen by 'innocent' eyes. Difficult to find (a children's book!) in as fine condition as this copy.
